Week Three: Baroque
How discerning was your ear? Did you get any or all of them right? Here are clips to today's songs. We'll start with Winter...this violinist is quite amazing!
Summer, just one movement; the Presto as we heard today. Can you guess that Presto means fast!?!
Springtime! LISTENING QUIZ PIECE: SPRING
Thought it was about time we should hear from a male violinist. :-) Here is Autumn.
Vivaldi's Gloria: This is actually the entire thing (12 movements). We only heard a bit of the opening in class; go ahead and listen to at least the entire first movement.
I love these graphic depiction videos of music. And it's got a moving score too!! LISTENING QUIZ PIECE: AIR ON THE G STRING
We will finish up Bach next week my friends!

Week Two: Renaissance
Today we studied Thomas Tallis and William Byrd. Here's that really cool version of his 40 voice Motet, Spem in Alium. Interestingly, this song has been rediscovered recently and used for the soundtrack of the series "The Tudors". LISTENING QUIZ: BOTH SONGS FOR TALLIS AND BYRD
Here's that Opera chorus that I didn't quite get to play for you!
